Turks head cactus on the Ram head hike

Ram Head - turks head cactus

Here are some of the turks head cactus I told you about yesterday. You will find these all over Ram Head if you hike to the southern most point on St John. They are called turks head cactus because the top red part is suppose to resemble the fez hats the Turkish guys use to wear. Additionally, the Turks & Caicos islands are named after this cactus. Amazingly the top can grow to 1-2 feet tall.
