Grande Anse Beach is one of the nicest in Grenada

Grand Anse Beach

If you are on Grenada and want a great beach then you need to look no farther than Grande Anse Beach that sits halfway between the capital and the airport. This magnificent sandy gem is over a mile and a half long and even though it is very popular that much space means it does not feel too crowded and you can find a wonderful shady spot under a sea grape or coconut tree somewhere.

One of the few resorts on the beach. All of them are small cozy places.

If you arrive on Grenada by cruise ship then you have it super easy to get to Grande Anse Beach. All you have to do is catch a water taxi from the cruise ship pier and they ferry you right over there. If you are on a boat or staying in a hotel then all you have to do is take a short taxi ride or jump on the local bus (zone 1), which I talked about a couple days ago.

Umbrellas is an awesome place to eat!

Once on the beach you can find just about anything you might need from drinks to food to sunscreen to toys from one of the many vendors that set up little shacks here and there. The good part though is that they are there, but are not pushy like on other islands. When it comes to food you can not go wrong with stopping at the two story Umbrellas. I sat on the top deck and soaked up the view of the beach 100 feet away as I had a spicy pineapple burger and a frozen cocktail that was fantastic!!!!!

Yummy!!!!!
