CruisingWorking on the boat

1st week on the boat

I flew to Washington, DC for work this week.  I was out in Reston, which is a western suburb.  It was a productive week at work, but nothing too exciting.

On Friday I flew from Washington, DC to Miami, FL to San Juan, PR to Beef Island, BVI and arrived on the boat at 9PM.  Paul (the previous owner) met me at the airport and we walked the 100 yards to the dock where he had the dingy waiting.  He spent the next day showing me all the systems and different things about the boat.

We had a scary moment when this idiot, who anchored too close the day before, wanted to leave, but his anchor was under our boat at the time.  He keep trying to get it up and would have hit the boat if I did not have a fender ready and a great couple had not squeezed their inflatable in between the boats.

Paul flew out at 7AM today.  He had to leave the boat at 5AM so we decided he would take the dingy and leave it at the dock.  Later in the morning I flagged someone down and got a lift to pick it up.  I spent the rest of the day looking through the boat, getting set up on the computer so I can work tomorrow and exploring Trellis Bay with the dingy and snorkel.
