This was our second time aboard The Guiding Light and I think we all would agree that it was even better than the first. Preparing to come back to Shane’s boat was like getting ready to come and see a good friend. Shane just has such a way of making everyone feel so at home in his “home”. Our second time aboard was nothing short of spectacular and a completely different trip than the first. We were able to come back to a few spots that were our favorites and experience many things that were also new to us. Shane’s ability to make everyone feel comfortable and at home is really one of the things that makes the trip. He is nothing short of an exceptional Captain. Shane is also a tremendous cook, which is so nice after a day of playing in the water when you don’t feel like cleaning up and going out. Every meal he creates is simply delicious and his desserts are out of this world!
Now that we have experienced this trip more than once we are really having a hard time planning other trips a different way. Coming aboard The Guiding Light is just so amazing in so many ways. Shane really caters to each family or individual, which is something we have not experienced before. He puts time and thought into each daily excursion, something that is so nice when you are on vacation. Sometimes it is really nice to be able to just show up and have a little fun, while Shane takes all of the worry out of everything for you. Because of this we are actually contemplating coming aboard The Guiding Light a third time. We love everything about the BVI and Shane just makes the trip perfect in every way. – Krista

Well said Krista! As Krista mentioned this is our second visit to The Guiding Light and it just gets better and better. Like many, Jim and I both work full time, we’ve got 2 kids under the age of 6 and life moves at lightning speed. We’ve taken a vacation each year for the last 12 years and we’ve never repeated the same trip with the exception of this one. There was never a second thought in not coming back a second time. I think the tipping point for us to repeat a vacation is the experience Shane offers and the fact that he’s become a good friend. I’ve laughed more in the last 8 days than I have in weeks. You are on vacation the minute you wake up. I put my swimsuit on and head up for breakfast, no decisions of where to go to eat or trying to find a chair on the beach. Shane listens to what’s important and he delivers the best vacation experience you’ll ever have. This trip was a great balance of downtime lying on a beach and mixed with enough adventure to satisfy everyone’s vacation must haves. He also makes the best corndogs ever.
Ok, so for those wondering what spots we hit. We did Cinnamon Beach, Waterlemon Cay, the Baths, The Dogs, The SandBox, Levericks Bay, Bitter End, Cane Garden Bay, Sandy Cay, Bubbly Pool, and today we will hit the Soggy Dollar. If you asked each of us individually what was our favorite, we’d all have a different answer. When it’s your turn to get on the boat, just trust that Shane will make sure everyone has the experience they want and the vacation of a lifetime. –Lesley
