Cruising

What does the future hold for me?

By March 14, 2017 7 Comments

On Sunday I laid a bombshell down that I would only be chartering next season until around April 15th and said you had to come back today to learn why. The answer is related to the blog about my mini cruise in the upper Caribbean I posted last Thursday.

I have been extremely successful chartering in the Virgin Islands, but my wanderlust is not being met with the travels I am doing in the offseason. Therefore I am going to be heading down the Lesser Antilles starting Tax Day and returning to the Virgin Islands Thanksgiving week for the next season.

I will do this for the next two years before turning the bows west in April 2020 to explore the Greater Antilles and Central America with the boat and South America with a backpack. I figure this will all take another couple years and then it will be time to look at the Pacific Ocean. 🙂

Of course during all of this I will be running charter from my current location, so if there is somewhere you have always wanted to go let me know hand we can make it happen for you.

The best part is that I get to explore and share with you new and exciting locations. I will be snapping tons of photos, writing blogs, and of course editing together travel videos for my readers.

I freely admit this plan is firmly set in Jell-O and it could change tomorrow, but what do you think of it? Want to join me?

I don’t suppose you could let me know when you would be close to some whale sharks? I would love to charter again with the purpose of snorkeling near these huge beasts! I was afraid I might be intimidated by the sheer size of them but I did a snorkel at Georgia Aquarium in the tank with their whale sharks and it was all good. I was just in awe and it made me more determined to snorkel in the wild with them. I hope you are well and it is so good to hear that you have plans to expand your charters! Debbie

    Debbie,

Swimming with a whale shark would be very high on my list of super cool things I have done. Can not wait to find them!!!!

Sounds exciting! Be sure to visit Cartagena, Colombia; historic Old Town is awesome! The restaurant food is cheap and so is the ice cream. ????

Shane- This is very exciting news. I wonder if you would get near any whale sharks? I hear Holbox, Mexico off the Yucatán Peninsula is the best place these days for seeing them. But the Outer Bay Islands – mostly Utila- of Honduras is supposed to be good also. It’s my dream to take a charter and snorkel with the biggest fish in the ocean. Keep sharing your updates!
