First purpose built church

As I continue continue to share my trip through Israel and Jordan with my parents you find us crossing into Jorday today. I am trying my hand at a video blog (vlog) today while below is what my mom wrote on Facebook.

[Mom – September 12, 2019 – We had the experience of a lifetime yesterday.

We rented a car in Aqaba, Jordan and drove by the ruins of a castle and the ruins of the oldest purpose built church in the world. We then traveled to Wadi Rum where we began a tour of the desert from the back of a truck. After seeing mountains and the desert like nothing we had ever seen before we spent the night in a tent in the middle of the desert. We were cooked both lunch and dinner by the Bedoiuns who were our hosts for the day and night. After dinner they entertained us with songs and dancing around a campfire. Some of the experiences during the night included a couple of times where a camel walked within 2 feet of our door, a cat jumping up on the ledge of the window and Bill saying ,”Scat” which made me wake up with a loud scream which woke Shane up even though he was in another tent. He thought I had fallen so came to check on us. I think he was a little disgusted with his parents when he found out all the drama was over a silly cat. Unfortunately, at breakfast the next morning, the other guests were discussing being awakened by screams in the middle of the night!! Following breakfast prepared by the Beduoins, we got in the truck to head back to pick up our car for a drive to Petra for a day of more adventures.]
