Sometimes the problem is the holder

Fuse holder

The other day the solenoid for my propane shut off and I could not get it to come back on. I jiggled the wires and it would beep on for a bit and then off again. The first thing I did was check the in line fuse, which was intact (in fact a new one did not solve the problem either). I next fiddled with it and noticed it would go on and then off depending how I held it. This led me to believe the wire connections had corroded. After cutting the line and re splicing it together the problem persisted. Finally I decided to  see what a new inline fuse would do and guess what? That was the issue. The fuse holder stopped passing the current due to a loose wire or bad spring inside.
