One final stop before we leave Carriacou Island

Shipwreck on Carriacou

Yesterday I wrote about how awesome Sandy Island, off of Carriacou in the southern part of the Grenadines, was and how we ended up spending the night moored off the island. Well tomorrow I will write about our last stop in Tyrell Bay to see the mangrove swamp, but today I wanted to give you a little taste of the mangrove swamp with this photo of the day.

This shipwreck was right at the entrance to the mangroves and attests to the fact that many people use this swamp as a hurricane hole when storms come through. Of course a boat can weather the storm just fine, but if you neglect the boat it will decompose where you left it.

Follow me on Instagram to see all my past “photos of the day” and to keep up with each new one. Thank you!
