During one of my recent charters a guest brought a shell back from his snorkle at Cooper Island. He asked if he was allowed to keep it to which I said sure as long as there is nothing in it. Well it turns out it was occupied by an octopus. Of course this guy was no more than an inch and a half from tip to tip and fit in the palm of my hand. He was very active as he crawled along my hand and onto my knuckle. Once there he used his jaw to bite me and that little sucker hurt!!!!
We could not get enough of playing with this guy as we watched him in a bowl of water. He was very squeezy and slimy. After we got all the photos we wanted of him we put him back in the water and watched as he disappeared under a small rock.
I have had some great experiences that I remember well and can’t wait to tell other people about and this little guy just climbed on to that list also.
