Rockland Estate Adventures is the place to find your adrenaline

Rockland Adventures - Flying Dutchman POTD

Rockland Estate Adventures is found in the middle of the Dutch side of St Martin and has four different ways to find your adrenaline rush.

Rockland Adventures - Chairlift With New FriendsFirst is the chair lift going up the mountain. This is slow and offers you lots of time to soak in the sights and sounds. I found everyone so excited to go up that striking up conversations was not hard at all. My first ride up I rode with a guy from the Netherlands who lived on Curacao for a while, married a lady from Barbados, and they now live in NYC. I found out they just met their friend that day and she was from Uganda. Fascinating.

Rockland Adventures - SchoonerThe next level of adrenaline rush is called the Schooner and is like riding a water slide on an inter-tube, except there is no water and you are going along a slippery plastic. It seems ok, but once you are rushing down the track it is a hoot and a half!!!!

Third on the adrenaline rush scale is the zip lines. They have four of them going to one rock outcropping to the next at the top of the mountain. It is fun to zip hundreds of feet across an expanse several times.

The ultimate rush at Rockland Estate Adventures is called the Flying Dutchman and is the steepest zip line in the world. They strap you into these cloth chairs and you put you feet up on a rail as they open a roller coaster type of door to release you. From that point on you are spending a minute or so zipping along at speeds so high you can not keep yourself facing forward and the wind is whistling in your ear.

You can do all four adrenaline rush options for around $140 and I am so glad I did it. I had so much fun!!!! They also offer a restaurant and a small museum on site so you can space out your rushes and give your heart a chance to catch up. 🙂 Plus all the way up at the Flying Dutchman there is a bar that offers some of the best views on the island……..and just a little liquid courage for the plunge. Haha
