Poor Willy T, what will we do now?

Poor Willy T

The Willy T was a famous floating bar in The Bight of Norman Island. It was infamous for the debauchery that happened aboard. Each night would be different and I have been there plenty of times when everything is calm and people are just dancing, drinking, and jumping off the second floor. Other nights half the ladies would be topless dancing away. One night I even saw a drunk naked man swim from his boat to the Willy T and party away…..until he was kicked off. Yes there is a double standard on the Willy T. Naked women are good and men are bad. What to do?

Sadly, this BVI icon was destroyed by hurricane Irma and now sits on the nearby shore stripped to the bone. Trust me when I tell you the irony is not lost on me!!! 🙂

The good news is that it will be rebuilt and the legend will continue and I will keep you posted when it is up and running. I mean how can you keep a rambunctious bar named William Thornton (the architect of the US Capitol Building, a native of Tortola, and a good Quaker boy) down?
