New Year’s week in the BVI is way to crowded!!!!!

I have come to a realization…spending New Year’s week in the BVI and New Year’s Eve in Great Harbor on Jost Van Dyke is fun….once. After that the sheer number of boats is overwhelming and can be dangerous. I had to get to each anchorage by noon in order to secure a good spot and then fend off credit card captains (bareboat renters) as they come in late in the day (or even after dark) and try to get close to the action even though there is no room or moorings available. I had my dinghy almost ran over after dark and another captain watched a boat get t-boned. Then you have issue of all the boats sailing and trying to figure out which ones know and are following the rules of the road.

So next season I am holding out for a New Year’s week charter that wants to stay away from the hassle and spend the week enjoying nature and quite, amazing anchorages of the USVI and SVI. Does that sound like you? If so come aboard and let the other people deal with the bars, crowds, and noise while you get great snorkeling, deserted beaches, and quite anchorages.
