Californians rave about In-N-Out Burgers

I swear every person I know from California raves about how good the burgers at In-N-Out Burger is and how they miss them so much. I going to admit it can be a bit much……but probably not nearly as bad as Texans talk about Blue Bell Ice Cream! Oh man now I am drooling for Blue Bell Ice Cream and forgot what I was saying. 🙂

Oh yea, they love In-N-Out Burgers, which was started in 1948 in southern California and is still family owned and has no franchises in its current 342 locations. I figured during my road trip back in September that I should try one since I was in southern California.

The restaurants have a very retro look about them that I actually really liked. The uniforms are white with red trim and the employees wear paper hats. It all had a 50’s feel to it and was rather refreshing. The menu itself is quite simple: a couple choices of burgers, fries, drinks, and milkshakes. This does not give much variety, but it makes ordering easy. 🙂

I am going to admit the burger, fries, and shake were good and I would go back if in the area, but was it really worth the big fuss Californians make over it? I am going to say yes……but only because those same Californians have not come to Texas to have a Whataburger (pronounced Water Burger to Texans 🙂 ) on toasted Texas toast.

Now that is a burger! Let the debate between In-N-Out Burger and Whataburger begin. 🙂

    Rich,

I love it. I totally agree with you. Everything was good, but I must not have gotten the Kool-Aid. Haha

I hope others join us and talk about thier favorite local burger joint or fast food.

By the way, your cheesesteaks are absolutely mouth watering!!!!!!

The last time I was in California my family and I went to In-N-Out Burger to see what all the fuss was about . The burgers were good the service was good and the restaurant was super clean so that was nice but would I go out of my way to eat there again ?I honestly don’t know. For my money five guys make so much better burger and of course being from the Philadelphia area a good cheesesteak tops a burger any day of the week , but that’s a topic for another debate 😄
