The boat strapped down

Hauling the boat outThe boat strapped down

Last week I hauled the boat out of the water, stripped all the gear off of it, and strapped it down in a field on the east coast of Puerto Rico. As I was leaving I keep hear this song in my head!

Goodnight, sweetheart, well it’s time to go,
Goodnight, sweetheart, well it’s time to go,
I hate to leave you, but I really must say,
Goodnight, sweetheart, goodnight.

Well, it’s the beginning of the offseason,
And baby, I just need to go,
Well, I hate to leave you, baby,
but I need a good long vacation.

Goodnight, sweetheart, well it’s time to go,
Goodnight, sweetheart, well it’s time to go,
I hate to leave you, but I really must say,
Goodnight, sweetheart, goodnight.

Everything has been striped off of you
and I had you hauled to a dry field
You are strapped down to concrete slabs
in order to help you weather any storms.

Goodnight, sweetheart, well it’s time to go,
Don’t worry because I will be back early November,
I hate to leave you, but I really must say,
Goodnight, sweetheart, goodnight.
