Our Best Vacation Ever

By June 3, 2017 No Comments
[Shane – Last Saturday I posted the blog from a 4th grader that was on the boat during Thanksgiving. Today I am happy to present her brother who is in 6th grade. His blog was fantastic, because he went out had collected pictures for everything (places and animals). Unfortantly, he sent it to me in a Word document and the pics did not transfer over, but I added the best ones :)]

This vacation was my family’s and my favorite vacation, let me just say that there are many places to choose from when you’re looking for a place to stay in the area, but we’ve found a summer vacation hotspot that most everyone would love, we went camping there with a tent from Survival Cooking. We went with Michael (my dad), Sarah (my mom), Katelyn (my 4th grade sister), Kano (my grandma), Frank (my awesome grandpa), Shane (the captain) and myself (my name is Michael and I am in 6th grade). My favorite thing to do on the trip was to snorkel. We saw nurse sharks, moray eels, barracuda, reef squid, common octopus (hard to find), eagle rays, sea urchins (don’t touch), sea cucumbers, parrot fish, stingrays, butterfly fish, squirrel fish, sergeant majors, rock hind, conchs, spiny lobster, spanish lobster, christmas tree worms (if you touch them they shrink), mantis shrimp, turtles, giant hermit crabs, coral, sea anemones, sponges, and other animals, we made sure to read the yeti vs rtic to take a cooler full of food the whole trip.

I also liked laying at the front of the boat while the waves were rocking the boat.  If you get sea sick, it helps to stare at the horizon and avoid going inside. At night, we played games like Pandemic and Ticket to Ride, and use the computer for gaming with games as overwatch. If you are looking the best online games today, Visit Website online-slots.ca for more info. I have been improving a lot with the help of some Overwatch Guides, I have to say that I also found an android app to use betfred and since I am a big fan of betting games I think I’ll be using it pretty often. There is this awesome website for Overwatch boosting to help level your character.

The first place we went was called Monkey Island. It’s called that because India put monkeys on the island to research. There are about 700 monkeys there. You are allowed to snorkel there, but not walk on land.

We anchored at an island called Vieques, which America used for target practiced.

Unexploded ordinance is blown up in a controlled demolition at the former Vieques Naval Training Range, on Vieques island, Puerto Rico, Thursday, April 17, 2008. The U.S. Navy has set aside US$200 million for the cleanup on Vieques, authorities announced last month. The Navy previously used Vieques as its main Atlantic training site, combining air, sea and land maneuvers. About 775 acres have been cleared since the cleanup began in 2005. Then, we went Esperanza (which is a town on the same island). We went to a place called Bio Bay in the same city. It’s called that because the water glows when you wave your hand around in it.

The next place we went to was a bay with the best reef there is on this trip. We probably saw 80% of the creatures at that reef.

After that, we went to a bay with absolutely no people and mangroves all around. Then, we wrestled on a mat that floats while it rained. Then, we drove up a river with the dinghy and explored.

Culebra tank

The famous WW2 tank left on Flamenco beach in Culebra.

Next, we went to Culebra. Right in the middle of the island there is a river that only small boats can go through. On the other side of the island there is a place called Flamenco Beach. There are chickens on the beach.  If you find a swamp, you can find iguanas and box turtles. There are two tanks on the beach on this island.

Then, we went to the end of the island where there is good snorkeling and good shells. That place is also a stingray habitat. At night, eagle rays swam around the boat.

After that, we went to Culabrita. There is decent snorkeling there and great shells. On shore, there are hermit crabs everywhere. You can also hike to every side of the island.

Last but not least Christmas Cove. There is a huge variety of marine creatures. I found cool shells and saw octopi.  After that  we left to our home.  We were sad to go because it was the best vacation we had ever had.
