As fans of the show Blue Bloods we got a real treat on our last day in NYC

My parents love a good “dead body show” as my mom calls them and they got me sucked into Blue Bloods starring Tom Selleck as the Police Commissioner of the New York Police Department. During the time that Melek was aboard the Guiding Light I got her hooked as well and we watched ever episode.

When we decided to visit New York City last September we took several photos from different locations seen in the show and sent them to my parents. Needless to say, we had a fabulous five days in New York City and I have really enjoyed reliving our visit as I have written all the past blogs. I hope you have enjoyed them as well and have been inspired to visit this amazing, vibrant city as well.

Our last day in the city we chose to ride the Roosevelt Island Tram and revisit Central Park before we had to catch flights in the late afternoon. Melek was flying back to Istanbul and I was flying to California to continue my travels with a two week road trip that I will start writing about next week.

As we were in Central Park it started to rain so we ducked into the Metropolitan Museum of Art and guess who we ran into? Robert Clohessy who plays one of our favorite characters, Lieutenant Sid Gormley. He is a born and raised New Yorker and his dad was a police officer. He was super nice and even recommended we take a photo together. The best part? He was an actor on the soap opera Guiding Light, so we are practically connected. Hahaha.

I can not think of a better way to end our time in New York than to meet him. I do hope you will continue with me as I visit California and then Arizona to see some great National Parks.
