Asia is one of the world’s richest continents in terms of culture, architecture and ecology. Boasting a large set of glitzy skyscrapers and monuments, the diversity of architectural designs is inexhaustible. If you are looking to visit once it’s safe to do so, here are the top must see structures.

The World’s Longest Bridge

Consider this one more of a modern thing to see, but nonetheless incredible! The Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge, the longest bridge in the world, sits in Asia’s China. Opened in June 2011 after a period of 4 years construction, the bridge spans 165 kilometers along the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway. Erected in an area dotted with rivers, rice fields and canals, the bridge is a purely breathtaking site that should be in your bucket list.

 

The Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is a spectacular fairytale, one of India’s most iconic monuments and a top wonder of the world. Dating back to 1632, it took 22 years to complete the ivory-white marble mausoleum, employing 20,000 workers. The Unesco World Heritage Site is located in Agra, boasting an atmospheric charm which is simply breathtaking. This historic landmark was designed by Mughal Emperor Shan Jehan for his queen, Mumtaz Mahal.

Fake Paris

Known as Tianducheng, China has a fake replica of Paris, an owe inspiring view you do not want to miss. The mini Paris, just like the real French capital, has its own copies of architecture, Parisian parks and the Eiffel Tower, all resembling Paris. Here, there is only one element missing; people. Fake Paris is a ghost city, initially built to accommodate 10,000 people. Unfortunately, not many took interest, particularly due to the remote and odd location of Tianducheng. Currently, Fake Paris has about 2,000 residents who mostly work in the town’s ongoing construction.

Himeji Castle

Also known as the White Heron Castle, the Jimeji Castle is considered to be Japan’s most spectacular monuments. This fortress boasts a set of spectacular beauty with well-preserved complex grounds. The Castle complex is over 400 years old, constituting of more than eight constructions spread across several baileys connected by winding paths and gates. During the blooming season in early April, you will also enjoy splendid cherry blossoms from more than 1000 trees.

Burj Khalifa

Standing with majesty at 828m tall, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building. Completed in 2010, the world’s wonder of all time has a glass-panelled frame pointing to the sky. Across its 160 storeys, you will find an infinite mixture of attractions, including the world’s tallest art gallery, which features over 85 acclaimed artists, the Burj Plaza, the dancing waters of the Dubai Fountain and a luxury spa and fitness club, among others.
