Africa Travel Guide

Africa is the second largest continent and was the cradle of humanity’s existence. The continent has 55 separate countries and the largest diversity in its population. Since Africa contains the longest river, biggest desert, 2nd largest rain forest, most unique animals, and one of the oldest independent countries in the world; there is no way you can make generalizations about the people, land, climate, culture, etc. Two physical barriers within Africa are the Sahara Desert across the northern part of the continent and the East African Rift down the middle. These barriers have hampered migration of people throughout history.

My first time in Africa was during 2017 with a two-week tour of Morocco in the northwest corner of the continent.

If you would like to learn more about a particular country just click on it in the map below. Of course, you can also jump over to the Africa Travel Video page to watch all the “Aboard The Guiding Light” travel video series made for Africa.
