Welcome to the Guiding Light sailing & travel blog

jump-to-postPhoto of the DayThis blog started off as a weekly summary of my cruise along the Gulf and East Coast of America, The Bahamas, and into the time I started charter in the Virgin Islands. Then in the middle of 2013 I started writing shorter fun blogs on Tuesdays and Thursdays along with the big weekly blog on Sundays. In 2014 it dawned on me that I could share even more of the great photos I have the opportunity to capture, if I do a “photo of the day” every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (follow me through Instagram).

I have been blessed to be able to travel extensively during my chartering offseason (August through October) and I love to share my experiences with my readers. So, when I am writing about my travels this cruising and sailing blog gets transformed into a travel blog as well.

Blogs (newest to oldest)

Now we are at the blog archive and I hope you enjoy perusing through them. If you would like to see post of a specific location, go to the Travel Guide section. Click on the category if you want to see only blogs about cruising, food & drink, guest’s post & comments, life ashore, miscellaneous, offshore, published works, sailing school, or working on the boat.

These were the latest 30 blogs. Would you like to view all the blogs?

While my “Aboard the Guiding Light” travel videos have their own page, below you will find some fun, short videos I’ve made. You should SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube channel to get sneak peaks of my upcoming videos.
