Jim, I think she enjoys being on the boat

If you haven’t been to the islands before like me (although my husband has been several times) you have visions of paradise.  And yes indeed, the Virgin Islands (US and British) are a must to experience as well as being aboard the Guiding Light with our Captain “Uncle” Shane McClellan.  He’s not really our uncle but Shane makes you so comfortable you feel like family.

The adventure began when we boarded the Guiding Light at Red Hook, St Thomas, USVI. First stop was Waterlemon Cay with snorkeling and with our private tour guide and captain, Shane, giving us a hike to the Annaberg Sugar Mill Ruins.  He gave a historical background of the mill and it is hard to believe that such activity took place on this beautiful island – North St John where we spent the first night.  This is the start of many stops some favorites are: Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke check in at customs, Corsairs for dinner meeting the owner Vinny and checking out the atmosphere at Foxy’s.  At Monkey Point Cay, I stood and sat and stood up again just watching the pelicans fly and getting ready for their dive for each fish. Something so simple caught my attention the most.  This brought much joy to my husband to see me having so much fun.   All along the charter, we got to see amazing islands and The Baths, The Indians, and Ram’s Head.  We can say that there is no better captain like Shane to be by your side and help you so much!!!!!  The journey continues with beautiful sunsets and the fabulous appetizers and dinners that your captain can prepare for you if you choose to do.  (nothing like the smell of homemade bread!) We highly recommend that and your charter with Guiding Light.
