If I only have 24 or 48 hours to turn my boat around between charters, I go to American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook. I am not going to lie and say it is the best docks ever, but it is very convenient.
It is the closest place to St John and the BVI where I can pick up my guest on St Thomas. Plus I have two marine stores and two grocery stores within 5 minutes of the dock and the safari (which is the local bus) runs right next to the marina.
My laundry can be picked up and dropped off at the boat and my cleaning crew can jump right aboard. Plus it is so much easier getting the provisions aboard from a dock instead of lading the dinghy and then dragging them aboard.
SO for me I do like using Red Hook, but what do you think of it?
